About The Role
As our Vocational Specialist, based in our Ashfield office, you will offer support and information for young people aged 12-25 who have general health, mental health, alcohol and other drug worries.
The Vocational Specialist, in collaboration with the Senior Vocational Specialist, is responsible for supporting the design, implementation and ongoing operation of the Individual Placement Support (IPS) program at headspace Ashfield.
The position is a Defined Term contract to end of June 2027. Full-time hours. Based on site in Ashfield

Your Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred vocational support to young people.
- Support young people to gain and maintain employment or education.
- Assist with resumes, job applications and interview preparation.
- Build and maintain relationships with employers and education providers.
- Attend clinical reviews and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Follow the IPS principles and apply it into practice.
- Deliver ongoing follow-along support after job or study placement.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes and IPS documentation.
- Participate in IPS fidelity reviews and meet KPI requirements.
- Conduct community engagement and promote the IPS program to the community
About You
- Experience working with young people, particularly within mental health, employment, education or community services settings.
- Strong understanding of vocational support, employment pathways and/or tertiary education systems.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate young people toward their employment and education goals.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with employers, training organisations and community stakeholders.
- Relevant qualification in Community Services, Psychology, Social Work, Employment Services, Education or a related field is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to maintain accurate, professional and up-to-date documentation and case notes.

- NDIS worker Check (or willingness to obtain)
- NSW WWCC (or willingness to obtain)
