Quality Improvement Manager

Chobani Australia

About Chobani

Inspired by Australia’s great people and vibrant food culture, Chobani Australia was formed in 2011 following the acquisition of Gippsland Dairy alongside the Chobani brand. Fast forward 15 years and Chobani is Australia’s #1 yogurt brand, living in the hearts (and tummies) of fans across the country. At Chobani it’s always been about more than yogurt. Access to delicious and nutritious food should be a right, not a privilege.

Chobani Australia is building the next chapter of growth – investing in major site upgrades and new capability to meet demand and deliver on our aspiration: in every fridge, everywhere, every day. Yogurt is one of the fastest growing categories in Australian grocery, driven by high protein, healthy options and convenient formats – creating genuine growth opportunity for our customers and our team.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Quality Improvement Manager to join our high-performing Quality team in a newly created role designed to elevate capability and drive transformational improvement across the business.

Reporting to the Head of Quality, this hands-on leadership role will be instrumental in shaping a proactive, continuous improvement-led quality culture, moving beyond traditional quality control to deliver sustainable, long-term outcomes as Chobani continues to grow, invest in capital expansion, and strengthen operational performance across manufacturing and the broader supply chain.

Sitting at the intersection of quality, food safety, operational excellence and innovation, this role will partner closely with cross-functional teams across Operations, Science & Innovation, Supply Chain and Commercial to identify opportunities, solve complex challenges and deliver meaningful improvements that enhance quality performance, reduce risk, and support the successful delivery of current and future business priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to drive measurable improvements across manufacturing and supply chain operations.
  • Analyse quality performance data, trends and recurring issues to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective action programs to reduce quality non-conformances and improve operational performance.
  • Drive key quality verification programs including GMP, environmental hygiene monitoring and pest control programs.
  • Provide quality guidance and risk assessment support across new product development, operational changes and engineering projects.
  • Lead hygiene and sanitation improvement initiatives including CIP validation and contamination prevention programs.
  • Lead, coach and support teams across the business to embed best-practice quality standards and continuous improvement capability.
  • Support change management processes to ensure quality is effectively embedded into operational and manufacturing changes.

Skills & Experience

Ideally to be successful in the role you will have:

  • 10+ years’ experience in a food quality leadership role within manufacturing environments.
  • Strong experience within dairy manufacturing, ideally yoghurt production.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of food safety systems including FSSC 22000 and HACCP.
  • Strong understanding of food regulatory requirements and quality risk management principles.
  • Experience in root cause analysis, continuous improvement and change management.
  • Knowledge of hygiene, sanitation and CIP validation processes within food manufacturing.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret data and drive informed decision making.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership capability with the ability to influence across all levels of the business.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and driving outcomes.

If you’re a hands-on quality leader passionate about continuous improvement, operational excellence and building strong quality cultures – this is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact within one of Australia’s most loved food brands.
