About the Role

We are seeking a Tax Accountant to join our team on either a full-time or part-time basis. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a varied role with client ownership in a friendly suburban practice, away from the hustle of the CBD.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and lodgement of accurate tax returns (individuals, trusts, companies, and partnerships)
• Preparation of financial statements and management accounts
• Ensuring all client work is completed on time and to a high standard
• Liaising directly with clients and the Australian Taxation Office as required
• General bookkeeping, BAS, and other compliance tasks

Qualifications

• At least 1 year’s practical experience working in a public accounting firm (essential)
• Degree or Diploma in accounting or related field

Required Skills

• Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax and accounting principles
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB, BGL360, etc.)
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• A client-focused attitude with good communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team

Preferred Skills

• Experience using MYOB Accountants Enterprise
