What You Will Be Doing
The Warehouse Officer is accountable for providing a warehousing service to business units within the GPC by receipting, storing and issuing store items. The Warehouse Officer will ensure they are committed to providing excellent customer service. Maintain and utilise all aspects of the warehouse and inventory management system: Receive goods inwards, check documentation, advice customers that goods have arrived and place items on shelves and ensure all items are clearly identified. Issue goods in a professional and courteous manner. Issuing and receipting of fuel and oils. Ensure stock accuracy by performing cyclical stocktaking procedures. Maintain compliance on storing and handling dangerous goods. Manage repair of rotable items.
Participate in the operational effectiveness of the warehouse to maintain it as the recognised supplier of choice;
Exercise financial responsibility through identification of cost saving measures and effective utilisation of resources; As in accordance with company policy/systems:
Ability to access necessary information, obtain resources and use of facilities or equipment needed to carry out the work of this role. Reviews and assesses the quality and quantity of stocks;
Completes stock reports as required;
Audits stock and ensures maintenance of damaged stock;
Understands and applies disposal and waste management best practices in accordance with safety and environmental legislation and guidelines;
Receives, issues and provided receipts for stocks.
Provides administrative support by assisting in data entry, handling information requests and performing clerical functions.
What You Will Need
- Certificate III in Warehousing or relevant warehousing experience.
- Forklift Licence.
- Mandatory C class drivers licence;
- Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) or ability to obtain.
