About The Role

This is a junior-level penetration testing role suited to someone with foundational offensive security knowledge who is eager to learn and grow within a supportive team environment.

You’ll assist with internal and external penetration testing activities, vulnerability assessments, and security reviews across applications, infrastructure, APIs, and cloud environments.

You’ll also gain exposure to broader cyber security functions including threat management, security operations, cloud security, and secure engineering practices.

This role offers strong mentorship and development opportunities, making it ideal for someone looking to build towards a long-term career in offensive security or red teaming.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assist with penetration testing engagements across web applications, APIs, infrastructure, and cloud environments
  • Support vulnerability assessments and security validation activities
  • Work with senior security engineers and testers to identify and document security risks
  • Help produce technical findings reports and remediation recommendations
  • Participate in internal security reviews and threat modelling exercises
  • Learn and utilise modern security tooling across offensive security and vulnerability management
  • Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to improve security posture
  • Stay up to date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques
  • Contribute to improving security processes, documentation, and testing methodologies

What We're Looking For

  • 1–2 years of experience in cyber security, penetration testing, SOC, infrastructure, or security engineering
  • Foundational understanding of penetration testing concepts and methodologies
  • Exposure to tools such as Burp Suite, Nmap, Metasploit, Nessus, Kali Linux, OWASP ZAP, or similar
  • Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, authentication, and web technologies
  • Interest in cloud security across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments
  • Understanding of common vulnerabilities including OWASP Top 10 concepts
  • Strong curiosity, problem-solving ability, and willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly
  • Relevant certifications highly regarded (e.g. Security+, PNPT, eJPT, CEH, OSCP pathway)

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to scripting or automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Experience participating in CTFs, Hack The Box, or personal security labs
  • Understanding of DevSecOps or secure SDLC practices
  • Exposure to SIEM, vulnerability management, or cloud security tooling
