West Beach Parks is one of South Australia’s leading tourism, sport and recreation destinations, spanning 135 hectares of prime metropolitan Adelaide coastline. The precinct includes South Australia’s largest and most awarded holiday park (branded as Discovery Parks – West Beach Parks), The Retreat the premium, self-contained accommodation offering, and The Pat G.C. a public golf park with two courses, a driving range and pro shop. In addition, West Beach Parks delivers competition-standard sporting facilities, hosts local, state and national events, and manages the West Beach Boat Haven, The Square community space and 33 commercial and non-commercial tenants across the reserve.
As a key contributor to South Australia’s visitor economy and local community, West Beach Parks works with State government, sporting and tourism partners to deliver high-quality experiences and drive year-round visitation. With a strong focus on innovation, customer experience and environmental stewardship, West Beach Parks offers a dynamic and purpose-driven environment where people can contribute to a destination that delivers real value to the community.
We are seeking to recruit a Chief Executive Officer to lead West Beach Parks to continue to drive and further enhance commercial and community outcomes. Reporting to the Board, the CEO is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction and operational performance of the organisation. This includes oversight of financial sustainability, capital investment and asset management, while ensuring strong governance and alignment with Board priorities. The CEO will lead the delivery of long-term strategic plans, foster a high-performing and customer-focused culture, and represent West Beach Parks across government, industry and community forums.
The ideal candidate will be a highly personable and credible executive with a proven track record leading complex, operational and customer-focused organisations. You will bring strong commercial acumen, strategic capability and sound financial literacy, with the ability to balance sustainable financial performance with positive community outcomes. An engaging and influential communicator, you will be a confident and diplomatic negotiator, capable of building trusted relationships across the organisation, customers, State and Local Government and the broader community. Your ability to foster a culture of innovation, experience excellence and operational oversight will be critical to success in the role. Equally important will be your genuine alignment with the organisation’s purpose and commitment to enhancing tourism, sport, recreation and community experiences across the State.
