A large, multi‑business industrial group operating across Australia and New Zealand, with eight business units and a workforce of approximately 1,500 employees nationally. Operating firmly within the blue‑collar industrial sector, our success is underpinned by strong operational leadership, safety, and a highly engaged workforce. This is a true generalist HR Advisor role with strong emphasis on ER/IR and operational HR. You will partner closely with General Managers and operational leaders across seven Australian business units, providing pragmatic, commercially focused HR advice in a high‑volume, blue‑collar environment.
This role suits someone who enjoys being in the detail, thrives on complex employee relations matters, and is confident advising leaders in a demanding industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to operational leaders on all ER/IR matters, including performance management, disciplinary processes, investigations, and terminations
- Interpret and apply Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and Fair Work legislation with confidence and consistency
- Manage end‑to‑end recruitment for blue‑collar and white‑collar roles, including apprenticeship and traineeship programs
- Support and mentor HR team members, contributing to capability uplift across the function
- Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Payroll, Operations and HSE
- Support injury management and workers compensation matters as required
- Contribute to HR projects, including the upcoming enterprise management system implementation
- Travel periodically across NSW, VIC and QLD to support the broader business (approximately quarterly)
The Successful Applicant
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Bring
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a HR Advisor / HR Generalist role
- Strong ER/IR background, with hands‑on experience in performance management, disciplinary processes and investigations (this makes up the majority of the role)
- Blue‑collar industry experience (manufacturing, transport, construction or similar)
- Proven ability to interpret Awards and Enterprise Agreements independently
- Confidence working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume operational environment
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong organization, resilience and time‑management skills
- A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset
- Valid driver's license and own vehicle, with willingness to travel interstate
Systems Experience
- MS Office
- HRIS / employee data systems (UKG experience highly regarded)
- Injury management and payroll‑adjacent systems
- Exposure to enterprise or HR system implementations will be highly valued

- $100,000 - $120,000 + Super, depending on experience
