Exciting opportunity with dynamic and growing team with a great track record. Running projects which are usually new build industrial or technical facility type projects.

Our client is a client-side project and construction management consultancy who provide independent and professional services for property projects. They are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Project Manager to join their innovative and client focused team to work on industrial projects. Experience working on industrial, warehouse & distribution centre building projects is desirable.

They offer end to end consulting, PM and advisory service to their clients. Ideally the candidate will have experience in industrial type of projects (or similar) however it is not essential. The candidate can come from the client or head contractor side, but will ideally have some experience working on the client or consultancy side.

As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering projects from scope development through construction to hand over, providing a high quality service that will ensure client expectations are met and exceeded.

7 to 15+ years

The Ideal Candidate will have

  • Experience of managing projects from scope development to hand over
  • A proven track record in managing the design development as well as the up-front regulatory approvals
  • Experience on new build projects from $10m to $50+, ideally in industrial or similar
  • Ideally experience of working for a client side PM firm or a main contractor on D&C contracts in buildings
  • Develop documentation for the appointment of contractors through competitive tendering
  • Identify and manage construction risk through all projects, escalating issues when required
  • Be able to manage project expenditure and cash flow
  • Be able to interrogate construction programs
  • Be able to manage variations, EOTs, RFIs on the client/contractor side including authority approvals
  • Be able to manage defect identification and rectification
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • A positive and "can do" attitude and extremely high client serving standards are essential

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or similar
  • Minimum 7 to 15+ years’ experience ideally working on large scale industrial, warehousing and distribution center projects
  • Strong Brisbane market knowledge
  • Ideally experience of working for a client-side PM firm or a main contractor on D&C contracts in buildings
  • Understanding of the Local and State planning systems and pathways, development applications.
  • Strong project financial reporting skills
  • Strategic thinker who is able to see the bigger picture
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience working on construct only and design & construct contracts such as AS4000, AS4902, AS4300, AS2124, GC21 and PC1
