System Administrator

We are seeking a Systems Administrator to support a Federal Government Department in Canberra. It is primarily a technical hands-on role with responsibility for a networked compute and storage infrastructure containing multiple virtualised and physical tenancies. The candidate will be expected to assist in the management of the physical infrastructure, allocation of its resources including provision of common IT resources and the ongoing security compliance of the infrastructure.

Essential Technology Experience

• VMware ESXi version 7 (and later)
• VMware vCenter version 7 (and later)
• VMware VCF version 9 (and later)
• Windows Server 2016, 2022 and 2025
• Active Directory and Group Policy
• WSUS
• Windows 10 and Windows 11 SOE Management
• NetBackup
• Significant Powershell experience

Desirable Technology Experience

• Experience with CCNA or equivalent knowledge
• Experience with configuring and managing Microsoft SharePoint
• Experience with configuring and managing Microsoft Exchange 2013 (and later)
• Experience with configuring and managing Linux variants (RHEL)
• Utilising Microsoft Deployment Toolkit
• Utilising PowerCLI
• Administration experience with Microsoft Azure/Office 365
• Experience with configuring and managing Nutanix/HCI
• Using Gitlab
