About this role
We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our friendly Melbourne team and play a key role in helping to keep our financial operations running smoothly and accurately. This position sits in between projects and finance, supporting the day-to-day administration of accounts payable and receivable while ensuring project costs are tracked, recorded, and reported with precision.
In this role, you'll be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling accounts, monitoring project spend against budgets, and maintaining reliable financial records. You'll also support cost allocation and contribute to financial and project reporting, helping provide clear visibility of performance across the business.
Working closely with both the Project Controls and Finance teams, you'll act as a central support function, ensuring financial data is consistent. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will help strengthen financial control, improve cost transparency, and support informed decision-making across multiple projects.
How you can support CoMade
- Degree, TAFE certificate in Business Administration, Finance or related discipline
- Preferably previous experience in construction or a related industry
- Sound understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes
- Working knowledge of GST, tax invoices, and Australian compliance requirements
- Familiarity with purchase orders, invoicing, and approval workflows
- Understanding of month-end processes, reconciliations, and financial record keeping
- Basic knowledge of cost allocation and project cost tracking
- Experience with accounting/ERP systems (e.g. MYOB, Xero, SAP, Workday or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data handling
