About The Role
PPS is seeking a Piping, Civil & Earthworks Superintendent to join our team. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be one of the most senior roles on site. Having a thorough knowledge of construction management principles and applying them effectively to ensure project goals are met, while also mentoring and supporting your team, and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources
- Works collaboratively with the Construction, Commissioning and Project Managers, in addition to Engineering team, to develop and execute project plans, scopes of work, methodologies, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Assists the Construction Manager in meeting project KPIs by overseeing site activities and addressing challenges proactively
- Support and mentor all site-based staff and field Supervisors as needed
- Monitor and reporting on project milestones and variations
- Manages the site ensuring that all workers follow safety protocols, and maintaining a clean and organised worksite
- Maintaining registers and ensuring all construction activities comply with regulatory guidelines
- Monitors trade and labour capabilities on-site, identifying and addressing any skill gaps or resource deficiencies
About You
- Proven experience as a Superintendent within FIFO or remote site environments, preferably within the resource sector including Tier 1 mining operations
- Demonstrated background in civil construction, pipeline construction, and/or structural, mechanical & piping (SMP) environments
- Trade background in welding or plant operations highly regarded
- Experience directly managing blue-collar workforces of 20-40 personnel, including performance management, and workforce planning
- Sound knowledge of resource planning including personnel, plant, and materials, with exposure to short-term planning and scheduling
- Knowledge of pumps, pipework, hydro testing, civil earthworks, and exposure to commissioning activities (desirable)
- Hold a current S26 certification or equivalent statutory appointment
- Proficient in MS Office and project scheduling tools
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
