Business Analyst - Technical

Business Analyst (Technical)

Location: Perth, Australia

Duration: 6 months (Contract)

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders to gather and refine business requirements
• Design and document dashboard structure, reporting needs, and data flows
• Apply user-centred design principles to deliver intuitive and impactful solutions
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for development teams
• Produce high-quality deliverables including user stories (Jira) and UI/UX designs (Figma)
• Collaborate with data modelers and Power BI developers to validate solutions
• Define KPIs and metrics that drive effective decision-making
• Develop test cases, perform data validation, and support UAT processes
• Present insights and recommendations to both technical and executive audiences

Key Skills & Experience

Functional Skills

• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and engagement skills
• Proven experience facilitating workshops, including with senior executives
• Expertise in requirements gathering and analysis
• Ability to define personas, KPIs, and meaningful business metrics
• Experience documenting user stories and UI/UX designs
• Excellent presentation and visual communication capabilities

Technical Skills

• Ability to bridge business and technical teams effectively
• Experience translating requirements for Power BI development teams
• Strong data analysis and data design understanding
• Experience with data profiling, mapping, and transformation logic
• Knowledge of data modelling concepts (supporting role)
• Experience validating dashboards and reports against business requirements
• Testing and validation expertise, including UAT support

Mandatory Requirements

• Strong stakeholder communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
• Demonstrated experience in functional and technical requirements analysis and documentation
