About The Position

Reporting to the Lead Reliability Engineer, you will provide technical support to enhance asset performance across fixed plant operations. The role focuses on analysing equipment failures, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing maintenance strategies that optimise reliability, safety, and productivity. You will work closely with maintenance, planning, and operations teams to ensure effective execution of maintenance plans and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse equipment failures and production delays to identify root causes
  • Develop and improve maintenance strategies for fixed plant assets
  • Conduct root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, FMECA) on equipment failures
  • Review maintenance execution performance and drive compliance improvements
  • Support planning teams with insights to improve schedules and forecast
  • Maintain and update maintenance procedures and work instructions
  • Monitor preventative maintenance programs and ensure effectiveness
  • Initiate engineering improvements to enhance reliability and safety
  • Contribute to maintenance budgeting and cost optimisation activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support continuous improvement

Skills And Experience Required

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering in a relevant discipline
  • Experience in mining, mineral processing, or heavy industry
  • Strong background in fixed plant maintenance and reliability
  • Proven ability to analyse faults and troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis methodologies
  • Familiarity with maintenance systems (e.g., SAP or similar)
  • Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Effective communication skills across technical and operational stakeholders
  • Contract management experience (highly regarded)
