Building Designer / Drafter

We’re seeking a Building Designer / Drafter with strong technical documentation skills and a passion for design-led projects. You’ll play a key role in taking projects from concept through to council-ready documentation while helping maintain high standards across a range of modular designs.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys seeing their work come to life, with the added benefit of working closely alongside an in-house manufacturing facility.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Producing concept designs and detailed documentation packages
• Preparing council-ready drawings and construction documentation
• Coordinating projects from early design through to delivery
• Ensuring all documentation complies with NCC/BCA/BAL requirements
• Maintaining drawing accuracy, consistency and quality standards
• Working collaboratively with operations and production teams
• Supporting and mentoring junior designers where required
• Assisting in improving internal systems and workflows

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• 3+ years’ experience in architectural drafting, building design or modular projects
• Strong proficiency in SketchUp + Layout and AutoCAD
• Sound knowledge of NCC/BCA/BAL compliance requirements
• Experience producing accurate technical documentation
• Strong project coordination and communication skills
• The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Leadership capability or the desire to mentor a small team
• A proactive and solutions-focused attitude
