What You’ll Be Doing

Responsibilities

This role plays a key part in transforming architectural and engineering designs into precision-built steel framing models using Vertex BD software. Depending on your experience level, your responsibilities may include:

• Interpreting 2D drawings to create accurate, buildable 3D framing models in Vertex BD
• Producing layout drawings, wall panels, floor systems, and roof trusses ready for manufacturing
• Identifying clashes, verifying load paths, and applying relevant framing standards
• Collaborating with internal teams including engineering, production and project coordination
• Liaising with clients, project managers or builders to resolve design questions or discrepancies
• Producing clear, accurate documentation for manufacturing and site installation
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across detailing workflows and output quality

Full training and mentoring is provided for trainee-level applicants.

We’re Especially Interested In Applicants With

• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• The ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
• Familiarity with construction terminology and residential building practices
• Experience with Vertex BD, Framecad and/or Revit (highly regarded)
• Previous experience in steel detailing, drafting, or residential construction (preferred)
• A commitment to learning and growing with the business
• Current residency in South East Queensland (essential)
