Job Role
Ringway is looking for a dynamic Head of Communications to own and elevate our external reputation, ensuring every message aligns with our strategic growth and work-winning ambitions.
As our Head of Communications, you’ll be the driving force behind Ringway’s brand positioning. You’ll craft and deliver a communications strategy that supports business objectives, frameworks, and bids while building strong relationships across business units and with external stakeholders. From digital presence and crisis comms to events and awards, you’ll ensure our story is told with clarity, consistency, and impact.
Duties
- Develop and implement an annual communications strategy that supports business objectives and promotes Ringway’s vision and values internally and externally.
- Lead stakeholder and client communications with local authorities, strategic partners, and communities to align with business unit priorities and work-winning goals.
- Manage digital and data-led communications, including website, LinkedIn, and online presence, using insights and analytics to inform strategy and bids.
- Plan and support crisis and issues communications, ensuring readiness for high-profile scenarios.
- Coordinate communications campaigns to maximize impact and ROI across budgets and resources.
- Act as brand guardian, ensuring message discipline and consistency across all channels.
- Support business units in developing and deploying local communications plans aligned with the overarching Ringway strategy.
- Manage internal communications flow, including newsletters, intranet updates, and roadshows, to keep teams informed and engaged.
- Lead external engagement activities, including PR, awards submissions, sponsorships, and major industry events such as Highways UK and CIHT.
- Monitor projects for opportunities to showcase skills, social value, and innovation, creating compelling communications collateral.
- Collaborate on bids and framework submissions, providing communications support for must-win projects.
Person Specification
- Strategic thinker with proven communications leadership experience
- Level 7 qualification and professional membership (Member/Certified)
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to influence at all levels
- Expertise in digital, data-led communications and crisis planning
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full Time - 40 - Monday to Friday
