SkyPoint Climb is Australia's highest external building climb at the top of the Q1 residential tower, with breathtaking 360-degree views of the Gold Coast region, SkyPoint Climb is a must-do attraction on the Gold Coast.

Harnessed to a purpose-built safety rail system, our Climb Leaders guide our guests on an amazing 90-minute adventure up a 298-step staircase located on the outside of the building to the summit. Throughout the climb, our Climb Leaders photograph our Guests in front of the massive spire, capturing lifetime memories of their experience.

The role of Climb Leader is to deliver a high quality, high value and highly memorable ‘must-do’ experience that becomes a highlight for both locals and visitors to the Gold Coast - an aspirational experience that people talk about and recommend to their friends and family.

Your New Day-to-day

  • Greet, register and collect payment or tickets from guests.
  • Deliver verbal safety briefings prior to commencement of the climb.
  • Assemble and check all safety equipment prior to departure.
  • Monitor climber activities in order to ensure compliance with SkyPoint Climb safety practices.
  • Present information regarding the Gold Coast and its surrounds including icons, landmarks and history.
  • Photograph Climbers at various points throughout the Climb, print and sell photos at completion of the Climb.
  • Move between various SkyPoint Climb and Observation Deck Guest Services roles as required based on the demands of the business.
  • Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge in order to explain and sell services, products and facilities to guests.
  • Keep up to date on current reservations, promotions & upcoming events.
  • Generate sales through upselling, ad-ons and engagement to maximise per cap revenue and repeat visitation.
  • Perform point of sale transactions including accurate cash handling and eftpos transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform cleaning duties and maintain venue cleanliness and hygiene standards.

To Be Successful, You Should Have

  • An outgoing and engaging personality, with exceptional customer service skills and a genuine passion for delivering VIP guest experiences;
  • Previous experience as a Climb Leader or in a similar role (highly regarded);
  • The ability to connect with and communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and with varying interests;
  • Confidence in public speaking, with the ability to engage and present to small groups;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet in dynamic environments;
  • Comfort working at heights and outdoors in varying weather conditions;
  • A strong safety focus, with excellent attention to detail;
  • A high level of physical fitness, with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks;
  • Knowledge of the Gold Coast, including key attractions, landmarks and local history (preferred);
  • A current Apply First Aid and CPR certificate, and a valid Australian Work Safely at Heights certificate, or the willingness to obtain prior to commencement;
  • The ability to successfully complete all stages of Climb Leader competency training;
  • Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster, including weekends and public holidays.
