Who We're Looking For

As new roles become available for us, we are actively building a solid talent pipeline of experienced Senior Cyber Security Specialists in Newcastle, NSW, including professionals with expertise in:

  • Cybersecurity architecture
  • ICT security policy and implementation
  • Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC)
  • Security design and assessment
  • IRAP, ISO, E8, CMMC assessments and documentation

We are seeking professionals with deep expertise in designing, reviewing, and implementing secure ICT solutions within complex government environments. You'll be involved in shaping modernisation programs, supporting procurement, and ensuring compliance with Federal Government security frameworks.

You may work across one or more of the following key areas:

  • Security architecture reviews and definition of target-state solutions
  • Development and review of Statements of Applicability (SoAs)
  • Risk assessments, control validation, and alignment to ISM and PSPF
  • Drafting System Security Plans (SSPs), SRMPs, SAPs, and SARs
  • Assessments aligned to the ASD Essential Eight and cloud (AWS/Azure) controls
  • Advice to stakeholders on current-state risks and strategic mitigations
  • Vendor engagement, security assurance during procurement, and solution validation
  • Working across multi-disciplinary teams including solution architects, business analysts, integrators, ICT, and vendors.

Who You Are

We're open to both Senior and Principal level Professionals who meet the following selection criteria:

  • Min 5 years' experience as a Security Specialist working on complex, large-scale ICT programs or projects
  • Tertiary qualifications in Cyber Security, ICT, or a related discipline
  • Industry certifications and strong knowledge of ASD Essential Eight and contemporary cloud security practices
  • Strong understanding of Federal Government security policies, frameworks, and risk appetite
  • Demonstrated experience delivering security documentation and solutions for both current-state and target-state designs
  • Proven ability to assess cyber risk, advise on compliance, and produce actionable recommendations
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to translate between technical and business language
  • High personal integrity, with a track record of delivering under legislative, policy, or budget constraints

Please note: Applicants must be Newcastle, NSW based and have an active NV1 Security Clearance or higher to be considered.
