The Role

This role will lead and own the finance function, working closely with senior leaders across the business. It combines financial control, reporting, and team leadership with a strong focus on supporting broader operational performance.

Key responsibilities include

  • Preparation of monthly management reports, including P&L and balance sheet
  • Managing cashflow, including forecasting and working capital oversight
  • Coordinating the annual budget and ongoing performance tracking
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory obligations including BAS, payroll and audit requirements
  • Leading and supporting a small finance and administration team (2 direct reports)
  • Maintaining financial systems, controls and reporting processes
  • Supporting leadership with financial analysis and operational insights
  • Managing banking, audit and external stakeholder relationships
  • Contributing to business planning and operational decision-making
  • Identifying and implementing improvements across finance processes and systems

What We’re Looking For

This role is suited to an experienced Finance Manager or Financial Controller who is comfortable operating in a hands on environment and working closely with leadership.

You will ideally have

  • CPA or CA qualification
  • Experience leading finance functions within SME or operational environments
  • Strong technical capability across financial reporting, compliance and controls
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with non-finance stakeholders
  • A practical, organised and solutions-focused approach

Remuneration

The role of Finance Manager in Hobart is offered with a salary between $100,000 – $130,000 + benefits.
