Senior System Engineer | Not Your Typical MSP Role
- Salary Up to $145,000 + Super
- Hybrid working after probation
- Sydney Based
- Ability to manage Level 3 escalations and work through technical issues end-to-end
- Exposure to security best practices including Conditional Access, MFA, and Essential Eight initiatives
- Experience supporting client infrastructure within an MSP or multi-client environment
- Strong troubleshooting across Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and end-user environments
You’ve got your coffee, you’re at your desk, and it’s 9am. You’re scanning the overnight alerts before the phones start to buzz. A few escalations from Level 2 have landed in your queue. Nothing you can’t handle, but you can already see how to prevent them next time. You enjoy these moments: mentoring the team, solving the knotty problems, and being the calm voice when things get complex.
By mid-morning, you’re helping scope a new client onboarding, reviewing design layouts, security gaps, and making sure the environment is set up properly from day one. After lunch, you’re helping a junior engineer work through an Intune compliance issue, then jumping on a client call to advise on improving security posture and tightening up Essential Eight controls. Somewhere in between you might be refining an automation, and documenting something the team will thank you for later.
The work is varied. The stack is broad. Every day looks a little different.
Everyone who joins an MSP will recognise the environment is broad. Ours is simply wider than most. We’ll provide context, documentation where it exists, and strong team support, but we’ll also expect you to be proactive, ask sharp questions, and start joining the dots quickly as you work across different systems and clients.
This role isn’t for someone looking for a perfectly polished environment where every process is already mature and every client is fully standardised. There are challenges here. Some environments need lifting. Some processes are still evolving. That’s exactly what makes the opportunity interesting. We want people who enjoy improving things, not just maintaining them.
We want someone who enjoys improving things, helping mature client environments, contributing to better onboarding standards, supporting Essential Eight initiatives, and having genuine influence over how we operate internally.
Beyond that, there’s real room to specialise over time, whether that’s automation and integration, security, consulting, or technical leadership, depending on where your interests naturally develop.
You’ll work across a varied client base from our Sydney office, and have genuine input into how we build and improve our internal tooling and standards.
