Java Developer

We are seeking an experienced Java Application Developer for an initial 9-month contract based in Brisbane, with flexible hybrid working arrangements available. This role sits within a high-performing technology team responsible for the design, development and support of enterprise applications delivering critical services.

About the Role

You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and ongoing support of enterprise-grade applications. You will work within a collaborative development environment focused on delivering secure, scalable and high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain enterprise Java applications
• Perform systems analysis and impact assessments for enhancements and new solutions
• Develop secure and maintainable web applications
• Troubleshoot and resolve application support issues
• Participate in code reviews, testing and continuous integration activities
• Support deployment and maintenance across hosted environments
• Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders
• Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing initiatives

Technical Experience

Candidates should demonstrate strong commercial experience across most of the following technologies:

• Java SE/EE (Java 17 or 21 preferred)
• Spring Framework / Spring Security
• JSF / PrimeFaces
• Hibernate / JPA
• Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
• HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery
• Maven
• JUnit, Mockito and Selenium
• Git / Bitbucket
• Jira / Confluence
• Tomcat or TomEE application servers
