Business Development Director APAC

Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Director, APAC to lead growth across a select portfolio of high‑value global and regional accounts. This is a senior, high‑impact role that will shape long‑term customer partnerships and drive sustainable revenue growth across one of our most strategically important regions.

Working closely with Group Account teams, the APAC President, functional leaders, and local sales teams, you will design and execute strategic account plans that position RS as a trusted partner and solutions leader. Success in this role will come from your ability to navigate complex, matrixed organisations, build executive‑level relationships quickly, and influence outcomes across multiple markets.

What you will do ...

Strategic Account Leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic account plans for selected global and regional customers across APAC
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen senior‑level relationships aligned to long‑term growth frameworks

Business Development & Solution Selling

  • Drive engagement by positioning the full RS portfolio of products, services, and solutions
  • Unlock new opportunities and expand strategic partnerships within existing key accounts

Market Engagement & Differentiation

  • Partner with local sales teams across APAC to clearly articulate and differentiate RS’s value proposition
  • Ensure consistent, aligned, and high‑impact customer engagement in a competitive landscape

Opportunity Growth & Relationship Expansion

  • Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities
  • Deepen penetration and influence within priority accounts across the region

RS PRO Regional Strategy

  • Lead the APAC go‑to‑market strategy for RS PRO
  • Drive regional adoption and contribute to product development initiatives based on customer insight

Revenue Ownership & Performance Delivery

  • Own revenue outcomes across APAC, delivering sustainable sales growth and achieving agreed targets

About You

  • Proven experience managing and growing senior‑level corporate or global accounts with a consistent record of sales success
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple countries, states, and territories within APAC
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse, interpret, and act on financial and business data
  • Results‑driven mindset with the confidence to set priorities and take ownership end‑to‑end
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, presentation, and influencing skills
  • Highly effective at internal networking and cross‑functional collaboration within a matrix organisation
  • Experienced in strategic planning, stakeholder alignment, and executive‑level engagement
