Job Description

  • Taking accountability for procurement and financial outcomes, escalating only where genuinely required.
  • Proactively identifying risks, opportunities and inefficiencies across procurement, pricing and delivery activities, and driving practical solutions.
  • Acting as a trusted representative of the Commonwealth’s interests in engagements with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Moving beyond reactive reporting to actively steering outcomes, particularly where financial exposure, delivery risk or value for money is at stake.
  • Leading the development and ongoing refinement of pricing structures, models and frameworks that support GFx delivery while ensuring Deed compliance.
  • Actively managing consumption, pricing drivers and commercial levers to mitigate cost escalation and protect the Commonwealth’s financial position.
  • Providing authoritative pricing advice that informs investment decisions, Deed Change Proposals (DCP) and executive approvals.
  • Ensuring pricing governance is applied consistently and confidently.
  • Designing and maintaining financial, pricing and performance information that aligns with executive decision‑making needs.
  • Anticipating future pressure points (financial, contractual or delivery‑related) and ensuring these are visible early, with clear options and recommendations.
  • Presenting complex financial and pricing information in a concise, structured and meaningful way for delivery teams and executive audiences.
  • Ensuring that information flows are cohesive across technical, commercial, procurement and financial streams, enabling informed, timely decisions at the program and executive level
  • Demonstrated capability to develop, lead and adapt commercial strategies in alignment with evolving program priorities, with clear accountability for commercial outcomes.
  • Experience enabling the development of complex commercial documentation, including materials that support critical program milestones, governance processes and executive decision points.
  • Mandatory Defence experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years’ industry experience, including exposure to large, complex and regulated program environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider unit.
  • Ability to access Export Controlled information is mandatory.

The candidate will be required to comply with the US international Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) as the candidate may need to handle export-controlled ICT hardware, software and data products.
