Position Summary

As a Painter, you will be responsible for the maintenance of wooden equipment, furniture and related fittings throughout the hotel. The individual will also ensure that all painting and varnishing and polishing work throughout the hotel, including sign painting, and spray painting.

The Role

• Repairs all wooden equipment, furniture and related fitting throughout all function rooms, banquet stores and banquet office, guest-rooms, public areas within the hotel.
• Makes or repairs partitions, doors, windows, sign boards, bulletin boards, boxes, tables, chairs, etc.
• Constructs cupboards, shelves and other furniture together with fittings as required by the hotel.
• Carries out re-grouting program within the hotel, including the absolute necessity to ensure all guest-rooms, bathrooms and public area toilets are properly grouted according to schedule. Ensures all tiling and plaster work is in good repair.
• Responsible for order and cleanliness of engineering areas throughout the Hotel. Ensuring that all safety rules and regulations are adhered to.
• Maintains strong working relationships with other departments to ensure effective communications for operational issues, and serves as a role model for inter-departmental collaboration and support.

Talent Profile

• Experiences in similar roles.
• Basic computer skills with hands-on experience in room maintenance.
• Ability to work shift work on a rotational roster including weekends and public holidays.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Valid working rights in Australia.
