We’re on the hunt for a REAL Publican, someone who lives and breathes hospitality, leads from the front, and brings locals together by creating pub experiences they love.

The Pioneer Tavern is a Penrith South icon and a community pillar located at the foot of the Blue Mountains. We are looking for an established Publican ready to take this venue to the next level. As a strong gaming destination with immense growth potential in the F&B space, we need a hospitality professional who is keen to evolve our service model and lead a passionate team.

Whether it’s driving our famous schnitzel menu in the Family Bistro or energising the Sports Bar, you will be the face of the community, building a culture of excellence in one of the region’s most beloved social hubs.

A Day In The Life Of a Publican

• You know the locals by name, they reckon you’re one of their own, all while keeping a sharp eye on the P&L.
• You run the place like it’s your own modern-day home, keeping things safe, smooth, and compliant.
• You're the pillar of the local community and the driving force behind a high-performing team.
• You put out fires before anyone even notices there was smoke.
• You bring the vibe, the service, and the smiles – every shift, every day.

Inherent Requirements

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About You

You already know if this is for you. You’ve got the experience, the presence, and the pride it takes to own a pub like it’s been yours forever. You're not just running a venue - you're living the Publican life.

• Hold current industry RSA and RSG/RCG qualifications as per state requirements
