Chief Executive Officer
First Super
First Super is seeking a remarkable Chief Executive Officer to lead the respected profit-for-members superannuation fund to serve the retirement needs and interests of its members.
This is a distinctive leadership opportunity for an executive who understands that superannuation is a long-term compact with working people. First Super’s members come from unionised industries, regional communities, and aligned sectors. The successful candidate will easily demonstrate a genuine affinity with member-based, values-led organisations and the role they play in improving financial security and dignity in retirement.
The CEO will lead the organisation through its next phase, bringing strong executive capability in regulated environments, sound commercial and operational judgement, innovative thinking and the ability to work constructively with service providers, unions, employers, regulators and other key stakeholders.
Cultural fit will be central. First Super is looking for a leader who listens carefully, builds trust, and understands the importance of representing members’ interests with integrity. The successful candidate will be able to balance strategic ambition and regulatory discipline with a deep commitment to member benefit.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Proven CEO, senior executive or equivalent enterprise leadership experience
- Experience operating in a regulated, fiduciary, financial services, superannuation, mutual, member-based or similarly complex environment
- A clear and demonstrated commitment to member outcomes
- Strong governance, risk, compliance and stakeholder management capability
- A genuine appreciation of unions, collective representation and the working lives of members
- The ability to lead people, culture, operations and strategy with confidence and humility
- High personal integrity, sound judgement and a clear values alignment with a profit-for-members ethos
This role will suit a leader who is commercially capable, strategic and practical, values-led, and operationally disciplined.
