Senior Structural Engineer

Nastasi Consulting Group is a medium-sized, multidisciplinary consultancy with offices in Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane. We provide structural, civil, geotechnical and surveying services to the residential, commercial and industrial markets.

About the role

We wish to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to our Newcastle office. The successful candidate will work on various projects including project and high-end residential homes and communities, industrial complexes, apartment towers, service stations, club buildings and childcare centres.

Essential Criteria

· Completion of a recognised Professional Engineering qualification

· 3-6 years of post-graduate professional experience as a Structural Engineer, ideally from a consultancy/design background

· Experience in the design of residential, commercial, industrial, high-rise, education and health care buildings

· Experience in the design of structural steel/timber framed structures, masonry and reinforced concrete

· Strong practical and technical ability, and conceptual understanding

· A good knowledge of Australian Building Codes and Standards

· Current drivers license

· Permanent/full working rights in Australia.

Desirable Criteria

· Eligibility to become a Chartered Professional Engineering Australia or RPEQ either immediately or soon

· Solid ability in the use structural software packages such as Microstran, Spacegass, Inducta RAPT etc.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

· Proven time management and organisational skills

· A proactive and technically confident approach to work.
