Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position for a Computer Network and Systems Engineer based in Melbourne, Victoria.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, maintaining, and optimising network infrastructure and telecommunications systems across the business.

Primary responsibilities include configuring and managing routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure, monitoring network reliability and performance, troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining network security standards, and supporting scalable telecommunications operations for residential and business customers.

You will work closely with carriers, vendors, technical partners, and internal teams to ensure stable, secure, and high-performing connectivity solutions aligned with RedSpeed’s operational standards and customer experience goals.

Key Responsibilities

* Design, implement, and maintain network and systems infrastructure

* Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networking equipment

* Monitor network performance, reliability, uptime, and security

* Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and systems issues

* Support telecommunications and ISP infrastructure operations

* Assist with infrastructure upgrades, deployment projects, and system optimisation

* Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures

* Collaborate with software developers, vendors, and telecommunications partners

* Support cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives

Qualifications

* Proficiency in Network Engineering and Computer Networking, including experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points

* Familiarity with Network Security and Cybersecurity principles to ensure infrastructure and customer data protection

* Experience in System Administration, including monitoring and maintaining servers and related systems

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

* Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills

* Knowledge of NBN, VoIP, mobile, or telecommunications network technologies is advantageous

* Bachelor’s degree, Diploma, or equivalent professional experience in Information Technology, Networking, Telecommunications, or a related field

* Relevant certifications such as CCNA, Network+, Mikrotik, Ubiquiti, or similar are highly regarded
