Quality Specialist
Sunnyfield Disability Services
Why Sunnyfield?
We are Sunnyfield, a place where people come to grow and belong. This is our one thing. Our purpose. Our work. We focus on everyday progress, that’s our pride. It’s about learning, providing support, and celebrating meaningful moments that spark lasting change. At Sunnyfield, you don’t just work here – you belong here.
About The Role
As a Quality Specialist – Safeguarding & Assurance, you will play a vital role in strengthening service quality, safeguarding client wellbeing, and supporting continuous improvement across Sunnyfield. You’ll work closely with frontline leaders and teams to build capability, verify compliance, and champion best practice. This is a role where your analytical mindset, relationship-building skills, and commitment to client safety will directly contribute to better outcomes for people with disability.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
Driving quality with purpose: Lead system-focused audits that examine how practice operates in reality – not just whether standards are met. Design and deliver risk-based and thematic audits that identify systemic issues and opportunities for improvement. Support leaders to translate audit findings into sustainable, organisation-wide change, not just corrective actions.
Safeguarding client experience: Improve how Sunnyfield learns from feedback and complaints. Analyse data to identify patterns, and integrate complaints insights with other assurance data to build a holistic view of organisational performance.
Collaboration that strengthens practice: Build strong working relationships across Shared Living, Community, Employment Services and Support Office teams to support a unified “One Sunnyfield” approach.
Continuous improvement in action: Shape and strengthen Sunnyfield’s Quality Management System to support a more mature, insight-led quality function.
Coaching for capability: Build capability in operational leaders to think systemically about quality and risk by providing coaching and training on interpreting data, understanding root cause, and taking ownership of quality outcomes.
Supporting safe workplaces: Promote safe work practices, uphold Sunnyfield’s Code of Conduct, and contribute to synergies between WHS and Quality activities.
About You
You’re someone who is passionate about quality, safeguarding, and improving the experience of people with disability. You’re analytical, curious, and confident engaging with people at all levels. You look beyond symptoms to understand why issues occur. You enjoy working independently but thrive in a collaborative team environment. Most importantly, you’re motivated by the opportunity to make services safer, stronger, and more consistent.
What You’ll Bring
Audit and compliance capability: Several years’ experience working with the NDIS Practice Standards or in a risk-based audit role, ideally within a human services, aged care or disability environment.
Sector knowledge: Understanding of the NDIS Quality & Safeguarding Framework and contemporary approaches to supporting vulnerable people.
Communication excellence: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights.
Analytical mindset: Skilled in identifying trends, assessing risk, and making evidence-based recommendations.
Organisational skills: Ability to plan, prioritise and manage competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
Collaboration & coaching: Proven ability to work effectively with diverse teams and provide supportive coaching to build capability.
Qualifications & checks: Auditor qualifications (preferred) or relevant experience, plus NDIS Worker Screening Check, WWCC, Criminal Record Check, COVID vaccination evidence, and a current NSW driver’s licence.
