Application Specialist - Engineering Support

Motion is seeking an Application Specialist - Engineering Support (Bearings & Condition Monitoring) to deliver technical sales, engineering expertise, and condition monitoring solutions to our valued customers.

About the Role

Reporting to the Services Manager, this role is responsible for making technical sales and providing engineering support to both internal and external customers.

You will

  • Provide advice, training, and problem-solving support across our range of Bearing and Condition Monitoring (CM) products
  • Visit customer sites to assess applications and deliver services
  • Assist in the implementation and delivery of condition monitoring projects and programs
  • Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify and implement improvement strategies that drive innovative, solutions-focused outcomes

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

  • Manage and grow an existing customer base
  • Engage new and existing customers to understand their needs and recommend suitable products
  • Achieve agreed sales revenue and gross profit targets for condition monitoring products and services
  • Provide technical sales and product support across Power Transmission and Bearing solutions

Marketing & Business Development

  • R ecommend, launch, and implement new products
  • Plan and support strategic marketing initiatives
  • Represent Motion at trade shows, expos, and industry events

Reporting & Analysis

  • Monitor competitor activity and market potential
  • Provide detailed reports on customer needs, opportunities, and performance

About You

You will ideally have

  • A Mechanical Engineering degree or relevant trade/technical background
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with a sales aptitude
  • Excellent product knowledge and customer management skills
  • The ability to identify and meet customer requirements effectively
  • Strong time management and strategic planning capabilities
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills and CRM experience
