As our practice continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and motivated clinician to join our team.

Role Description

This role is ideal for a practitioner who enjoys working with diverse presentations and values the flexibility and autonomy of private practice, while still being part of a supportive and collaborative team.

Our primary referral base includes children and families, so experience working with children, or a genuine passion for child-centred, developmentally appropriate, and play-based therapeutic approaches, is highly desirable. Training in, experience with, or a strong interest in somatic and body-based therapeutic approaches would also be highly regarded.

The role may also include supporting adolescents, adults, and families. We are looking for someone who is warm, adaptable, client-focused, and committed to providing high-quality therapeutic care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver proficient counselling and psychotherapy using evidence-based techniques, active listening, and strong interpersonal communication.
  • Maintain Accurate client records with excellent organisational and documentation skills
  • Collaborate professionally with other health practitioners
  • Work confidently with children, families, adolescents, and adults, incorporating play therapy and child-centered modalities.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in Psychotherapy and/or Counselling (ACA Level 3, PACFA clinical)
  • Accreditation and Registration with ACA or PACFA
  • Must currently hold provider registration with private health funds and/or approved WorkCover Queensland provider status.
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • Blue Card, Yellow Card, Police Check
  • Experience with diverse populations, particularly children, interest in play therapy, and child-centered approaches are essential
  • Additional training, certification, or clinical experience in somatic therapy, body-based interventions, or other trauma-informed modalities is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in ethical practice, confidentiality, reflective capacity, and family work

About the Role

  • Contracted Position offering a set rate per client seen (inclusive of superannuation and tax), with a minimum commitment of 12 months to support stability, therapeutic continuity, and consistency for clients.
  • Must be available up to 7 pm on Thursdays and Fridays.

The Opportunity

This contractor role is ideal for a practitioner who enjoys working with diverse presentations and values the flexibility and autonomy of private practice, while still being part of a supportive and collaborative team.

As this role involves building an established caseload within our practice, we are seeking a clinician who understands that private practice growth occurs progressively. The successful applicant will initially commence with approximately 1–2 days per week, with opportunities to increase days and hours as demand grows.

To support the development of a strong and sustainable caseload, we strongly encourage availability during our high-demand after-school and after-hours periods, particularly:

  • Thursday: 3:00pm – 7:00pm
  • Friday: 3:00pm – 7:00pm

These appointment times consistently experience high demand and typically fill quickly.

Our current consulting hours are:

  • Tuesday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
  • Wednesday: 7:00am – 5:00pm
  • Thursday: 9:00am – 7:00pm
  • Friday: 9:00am – 7:00pm
  • Saturday: 9:00am – 12:00pm

    Additional flexibility within these hours may be negotiated based on practitioner availability, administration availability, and client demand.
