The Role
As a Customer Liaison Officer, you will act as a key link between customers, drivers, and operational teams across the CDC network. This is a hands on, on the road role where you will support customers during disruptions, assist with investigations, and provide real time feedback to improve service delivery.
You will be a visible presence across the network, ensuring customers feel supported and informed while helping our teams respond effectively to operational challenges.
What You Will Do
- Provide on-site customer assistance at bus stops, interchanges, schools and key network locations
- Support customers during service disruptions, planned changes and high impact events
- Act as an escalation point for customer and driver concerns requiring immediate attention
- Work closely with the Operations Control Centre and depot teams to support service delivery
- Provide real time on road feedback to support operational decision making
- Assist with investigations into customer complaints, incidents and service issues
- Undertake fare compliance and revenue protection activities following training
- Promote safe passenger behaviour and identify risks across the network
- Complete accurate daily reports and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
About You
You are a confident and resilient communicator who thrives in a fast paced environment and enjoys being out in the field. You take initiative, remain calm under pressure, and are passionate about delivering a positive customer experience.
You will bring
- Experience in customer service or a similar fast paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- A proactive and solutions focused approach
- Strong attention to detail and reporting capability
- An understanding of Sydney’s public transport network is desirable
