The Opportunity

Join us in the heart of sugar country and support the 2026 sugar season in a hands-on, workshop-based role based in Bundaberg.

We’re looking for a reliable Trades Assistant to work closely with our experienced diesel mechanic who has been with us for over 15 years. This is a great opportunity to learn from someone deeply skilled, while playing a key role in keeping our fleet moving during a critical period.

What You’ll Be Doing

Plan and schedule vehicle movements in line with legislation

Assist the diesel mechanic with repairs, servicing, and maintenance

Prepare job sites and support post-job clean-up

Maintain tools and equipment in safe working order

Support transporting materials and basic installation tasks

Carry out general workshop and yard maintenance

Complete accurate records and documentation

Communicate effectively with the Maintenance Manager and team

Report hazards, incidents, and near misses

Contribute to a safe and productive team environment

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone motivated, commercially aware and confident in leading teams in a transport environment.

Manual driver’s licence (essential)

Forklift licence (advantageous)

Experience In a Workshop Or Fleet Environment (preferred)

Confidence using hand and power tools

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Good time management and ability to meet deadlines

A proactive, safety-first attitude
